About the Event

Whether you dread the spotlight or are the first to grab the mic, humans are storytellers by nature and we have more storytelling skill than we realize. Molly’s combination of care and coaching creates a safe space where you have the rare chance to play in ways that strengthen your story-muscles. Come try simple, low-stakes improv games, then listen to our story-sharers. You might even be inspired to share your own 5-minute story.

Because our voices matter, our story is a gift and connection is the key to unlock the best in us.

Molly is a coach, strategy consultant, and artist; designing experiences that inspire individuals and teams to tap into their creativity for more impact with less effort. She's on a mission to connect people to their authentic voice, a deeper purpose, and the power of community.

〰️ Stories are so much more than words; the meaning of your message moves through your body, your voice, your facial expressions, and your energy. What would be possible if you were able to regulate your nervous system and become comfortable using the full range of your storytelling instrument?

〰️ Connect With Story events are based on neuroscience research, improv techniques, and somatic self-regulation tools. You’ll learn to shift your energy and tap into confidence for networking, presenting, pitching, or wherever embodied, resilient storying can have the biggest impact in your life. Sharing a 5-minute story is optional.

〰️ Join us and connect with the good people from the Groundfloor community at their beautiful, welcoming space in San Francisco.  (Groundfloor is an inclusive community of people from all walks of life looking to build meaningful relationships. We are a member-driven social space that steers the curiosity and interests of members through shared commonalities and experiential events. Join us at Groundfloor -- the People's club. https://www.groundfloorclub.com)

〰️ Not a member of Groundfloor? No problem. Just sign up here, then show up, keep an open heart and mind, and practice being your-really-great-just-as-you-are-self with others.

〰️ Connect before the event and get updates on Facebook and Instagram or add yourself to our mailing list (bottom of this page). Because our voices matter, our story is a gift, and connection is the key to unlock the best in us.

FAQ

Q: I'm already a member of Groundfloor, do I need to sign up here?

A: Nope. Just grab a spot within the Groundfloor app.

Q: If I go, do I have to share something?

A: Nope. You can participate to whatever degree you'd like.

Q: Is there a theme?

A: There is no set theme. People tell the story they're inspired to tell. We encourage storytellers to be vulnerable rather than performative, and emphasize the importance of your authentic voice.

Q: What's the format?

A: Your 5-minute story can be read, memorized, improvised, sung, danced, or moved.

Q: Do I have to sign up to share ahead of time?

A: It's not necessary but people who sign up ahead of time do get priority in the line-up.

Q: Can I share if this is my first time?

A: Often people will attend once before sharing in order to get a feeling for the event, but that's not always the case. Watch this 3-minute video to get a feel:  https://www.connectwithstory.com/aboutstory?pgid=lfe702rq-fb06f687-4cca-4cfa-973a-920339e2ae60 Or read this blog post: https://www.connectwithstory.com/post/presence-respect-perspective

Q: Is there a time limit?

A: Yes. To ensure everyone has a chance to share, we ask you to keep your story to 5 minutes.
